...has occupied a dream space for years. It was not something we were sure would come to fruition. I fell in love with my kitchen (like most) during Covid. I had never really had the time to cook or the desire to make a fuss over dinner, and when time became all there was, I threw myself into cookbooks and artbooks, discovering so much enjoyment in the everyday. I planned what to put together and learned how to stock our pantry. The mundane routine became the best hours of the evening, and when we could finally invite friends over again what a thrill it was to rediscover the dinner party. Our home became my favorite place.

We schemed and planned, and this building popped up as an opportunity for us in early 2023. The work began in earnest to transition out of Nashville and into the Shenandoah Valley, with us physically relocating to Staunton in 2024. After two and half years of renovation on the building we both live and work in, the dream of opening our little shop is now very much a reality. You could say that Casa Rosa chose us.

While we are certainly not reinventing the wheel, the idea of the corner market, the independent wares shop, the local mercantile is finding its way back into small downtowns and the neighborhoods in-and-around them. Our storefront was occupied by local grocers for the first 100 years of its life. It fed our community and brought people together. The goal for us is to return to exactly that, bringing people together. Casa Rosa will feature new and found items not only to decorate your shelves, but to set your table, stock your pantry, prepare your meals, and fuel your conversations. 

Every travel experience, every meal shared with friends or prepared at home for two, every recipe, every table where we’ve sat, dined, worked at, and dreamed on has led to this moment. This store that we cannot wait to welcome you into.
